Playing Around With Picasa

I'm just playing with Picasa. I got a new camera for Christmas and I am learning to use it. I haven't learned any of the manual settings yet but I am working on that. I just love taking photos.

Anyway, one of my best friends suggested using Picasa from Google for editing (cropping, etc.) so I played with a photo I took at the park the other day and I really love how easy it was to improve photos (crop, edit, correct color, etc.). I have a lot more to learn, but here's a photo of Kierbear to start your Monday off right.

Have a great week!

P.S. What are your favorite photo sites, books, etc. for someone wanting to learn more about advanced photography? Any advice is appreciated!

Hey Shannon, there is so much sites out there where you can learn about editing. I usually do a google search for tutorials. If you want to learn more about photography one of the books that is highly recommended is "Understanding Exposure" by Brian Peterson. The best thing though is practice practice practice. You have 2 perfect little models to practice on.

He is a cutie! You got a great photo. I always just use photobucket, but I might have to try the google site your friend recommended. Thank you for sharing!

Hi Shannon-

I have a new camera as well and it seems no matter how many things I read, the thing that works best is practice.
I am trying to perfect the shots on my website, which almost seems in vain as every product seems to require a different manual (yes, I know, I said MANUAL, LOL!) setting.

You did a great job on your little guy! I love your blog and hope you can visit mine too!
