It's Not Time That Ages Us, It's Kids

I was lamenting to my sister via e-mail how I will never sleep again. My 2-year-old has figured out how to climb out of his crib. He greeted me in the kitchen this morning with a smile. Imagine my shock since I thought he was still sleeping soundly in bed. This weekend we are triple baby proofing (even more so than now). His brother is a master mimic so I surely don't need two toddlers climbing out of their beds on two ends of the house during the night.

It's true, I may never sleep again. I remember when the boys were really small babies and my mom friends and I would wonder aloud when we'd all get to sleep through the night again. I used to think after they were about a year old, then I thought maybe when they are 18, but now I think I may NEVER sleep well again. And, is that a grey hair? I am pretty sure I see a couple new wrinkles that weren't on my face prior to April 2007 as well.

Anyway, my sister mentioned an old song by Lonestar called "Mr. Mom". Of course, I had to go listen to it and watch the video. Haha! Okay, I needed this.

So, next time hubby asks you, "What do you do all day while I'm at work?" you can offer to trade or just show him this video. It's the HARDEST job I've ever done for sure but, like I always say, it's the only job I know of that is totally worth all the worry and lost sleep.

Wordless Wednesday

Last Friday, we had a picnic lunch in the park after one of my son's doctor appointments and as we were walking around we came across a Japanese Garden. Here are a few photos I took. Can anyone help me identify the flowers?

The ducks are Kujo Duck and his wife Mrs. Kujo Duck. They reminded me of hungry dogs. I was trying to feed my kids Goldfish crackers and had to move because they were trying to eat the food from my babies' hands (and not gently).

Simple Pleasures

The weather has been pretty and a little cooler than usual (although it's getting hot again) and the boys have enjoyed spending more time outdoors. Yesterday the boys helped water the plants (and dump out the plants) and weed the flower beds. Finley thought the sprinkler was for making little boys grow, not flowers.

Honest mistake!

Kieran found a nice place to relax and read a book with no interruptions...

Finley Was in Aunt Aimie's Wedding!

Congratulations to Aunt Aimie and Uncle Jason. The wedding was beautiful. Thank you for having us be a part of it.

Here is a little video montage of the boys at the wedding. You can see Finley walking down the aisle and Kieran dancing. The photographer took a ton of photos and I can't wait to see them!

Here Comes The Toddler!

My sister is getting married this weekend. I am excited and so very happy for her. I am also a tiny tad nervous.

Why?

Well, my adorable, sweet, precious, oldest son is going to be in the wedding. He won't actually be carrying the ring (thank goodness, I don't need that stress lol) but he will be "walking" down the aisle. I think technically his title will be cutebearer. He will be the one bearing the cute. hehe

Anyway, I am nervous because he's still a very cautious walker. Some of you may know that he's had four surgeries and is a little delayed in the walking department. He will walk holding your pinky like a pro and will take steps on his own but his preferred transportation method is crawling. He is a speedy pro crawler and could win an Olympic crawling event.

The first time I was in a wedding, I was older and able to follow directions. He's an energetic toddler motivated by Curious George, bananas and music. When they play the music for the bride to march down the aisle to, he will probably do his silly Curious George dance.

The photos in this post are of me in my oldest sisters wedding when I was around five years old in the 70s:

Cute, huh?

Soooo... the reason for this rambling post is to ask for advice. Does anyone have any advice on how to keep him calm? I don't think he'll stand still once we get to the front. I am curious if anyone else has had a small child in their wedding or had their own small child in a wedding. I am a bridesmaid so my husband will be available to step in if need be. I look forward to your advice and tips. Have a nice weekend!

Sweet and Innocent? Maybe!

During nap time today, I was working on posts for a wonderful new blog project I have been invited to participate in. This is a fun, new concept and I can't wait to share more info with you all soon, but until then, I thought I'd show you my sweet kids today.

This is my youngest son being good. Was he or was he not getting into trouble mere seconds before this photo was taken? I'll never tell.

Hrm, my oldest son seems a bit skeptical. What do you think?

All I will say is SOMETHING tired these sweet boys out! They fell asleep during quiet time before I could put them in their separate cribs. lol

Happy Mother's Day

I want to send a big Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there.

I was out of town until today. My boys spent the weekend with daddy and their grandparents and had a wonderful time but I missed all three of my boys terribly (and my furbabies too). We came home to the electricity out on our street and a dead microwave, but it was still a blessed day because I was able to spend time with my boys. They are my greatest joy.

I am very exhausted and about to head to bed now, but I hope it was a wonderful day for all of you mothers and my wish is that you have a wonderful week as well.

Motherhood might be the most difficult job that many of us have but it is truly the most rewarding, in my opinion.

Tomorrow's Memories Are Today's Blessings

All I can say is I LOVE THIS CHILD.

It's the simple things in life.

Remember that when you are a having a stressful day...

Remember when both kids are screaming, both are dirty, both are hungry (even though you just fed and changed them)...

They will only be little once.

Don't take yourself so seriously.

You only live once.

Enjoy life.

EVERY DAY.

My little Finleypotamus sure does.

You'll miss these times when they're grown.

I know I will.

You'll forget the sleepless nights and yearn for these sweet moments to return.

I am so blessed to have two healthy blessings.

More Birthday Photos.... Enjoy!

Happy Monday and Photos

The weekend is over? :( Saturday we had lunch with Mommy and Daddy and Miss Jennifer and Miss Lea Ann at Clay's Restaurant. We highly recommend it. They have horses and goats to pet and a SANDBOX and hamburgers and french fries! Any place with a sandbox is the best place ever (next to grandma's house)!

Have a good week!

Love,
Finley and Kieran

Do you have any more? Gimme some!

We like baked spaghetti, Mommy!
