Pumpkins, Parks, and Ponds

Ok I wrote this post Tuesday morning but had trouble getting the slideshow to work so, finally, here it is! I figured I better get it posted since I already have a bunch more photos from more park visits and fun for a post and don't want to get toooo far behind!

Finally, we have had some nice, cool weather here in Texas so we have been enjoying it. This weekend was the boys half birthdays! Finley turned 18 months on Saturday and Kieran turned 6 months on Sunday.

Saturday evening we went to the pumpkin patch at one of the local churches and let the boys play on the pumpkins and enjoy the cooler weather. It wasn't quite as cool as I like it Saturday but by Monday it was marvelous (and still is)! Yesterday, we went walking around the neighborhood and to the park twice. Finley loved looking at the turtles and squirrels and all the pretty scenery. He also practiced his walking on the fishing pier while holding my hand. He is getting more brave. He wanted to do it over and over again. The boys also loved the swings and Finley learned to climb up on the slide and go down by himself (he climbed on his knees). I think we will be at the park a lot this week.

I am looking forward to Halloween on Friday night. I hope the boys are comfortable in their costumes. Finley isn't a fan of hats so I hope that stays on long enough for a photo! lol I am really hoping this nice, cool weather stays until then and that the mosquitos are not a problem.

My Heart is Happy

The boys truly played together today for the first time. It just made me so happy that I nearly cried! Before now, Finley didn't know you have to be gentle with Kieran. Today it was just too sweet. Check it out!

Wild Wacky Wednesday!

Finley was playing in his play yard because he refused a nap today for some reason. I went in the other room to give Kieran a bottle and heard crying. I figured Finley was just getting fussy and finally ready for a nap. This is what I found! He was stuck! Once he saw my camera he starting smiling and laughing (he always poses for the camera).

Birthday Fun!

Friday, October 17 was my birthday and, thanks to my wonderful family, I had a wonderful weekend! The festivities actually started the weekend before when my sister Aimie took me and the boys to eat at Johnny Carino's... Mmmm. Then on my birthday, Andrew took me to eat at Saltgrass Steakhouse. I had prime rib and we shared Pumpkin Cheesecake for dessert. It was soooo decadent! Finley and Kieran stayed with Grandmommy and Pabba. Andrew, Finley, Kieran, Mandy, Chloe and Roofus (yeah the family yard squirrel even signed the card lol) gave me this awesome clock. I have been wanting one of these huge clocks for the longest time and was sooo surprised when I saw it! Isn't it pretty?

Then on Saturday, Ted and Lanelle (Grandmommy and Pabba) took me out for my birthday to Carrabba's... Yum yum! It was soooo good!

Happy Boss's Day!

National Boss Day is today so Happy Boss's Day to my two bosses... the Manager and the Assistant Manager of Finleypotamus and Kierbear, Inc. Not sure which is which. You'll have to ask them!


Tip to self: Always check your lens for baby fingerprints before taking photos to avoid blurry photos. Oops, lesson learned!

I have been having a hard week and a friend sent this... How sweet huh? It is in honor of my birthday which is later this week!

Summer Fun in October!

Yesterday, Andrew was doing some work outside in the evening so the boys and I went outside for a bit. Andrew was watering the grass and Finley was playing in the yard and found the sprinklers... He loved them (as evidenced by the photo and video). It's still very warm in Texas by the way...

Another Weekend Bites The Dust!

Wow, the weekends go just too fast! We had such a great time with Daddy and Mommy. Saturday we went out of town so that Daddy could help Grandmommy and Papa Ted and Grandmo and Papa Lowell clean up more after Hurricane Ike. There was a lot of damage at their farm. Here are some photos taken not too long after the storm came through. It only shows a part of the damage. They have a lot of lost trees, too.



Finley helped out inside since he is a Mosquito magnet. He "organized" Grandmo's drawers for her. How sweet, huh?

Finley and the Calamine lotion had a little run in... Mosquitoes LOVE him no matter what we try. It didn't deter him from his organizing, though!

Hrm, does this hard square one go with those hard round ones?

Sunday we watched football and folded laundry and did stuff around the house. Here are few photos of the "excitement" lol!
